Disney’s Animal Kingdom is gradually being transformed into a park that can really hold its own with the other parks in Walt Disney World. And the latest stage of this process involved the launch of ‘The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic‘ nighttime light show.
Set against traditional Indian sitars and tabla drums, this spectacular celebration of light on a lake tells the story of Disney’s live-action movie The Jungle Book.
Located on Discovery River, the show involves dozens of performers, five floating stages, songs from the movie and an awful lot of light!
The 20-minute show is now Animal Kingdom’s version of The Magic Kingdom’s Wishes, so it shouldn’t be long before it becomes part of everybody’s Disney holiday.
The awful layout of Disney’s Animal Kingdom park, a rather disappointing safari experience and a lack of major attractions has left me cold about this particular park in the past. But the addition of a nightly show – along with the upcoming Avatar attractions – will entice me to Animal Kingdom for the first time in six years.
Judging by this video from WDW Magic, this show is truly spectacular.
